LPAO MOURNS THE LOSS OF IT'S PRESIDENT, SIR CHARLES MACKERRAS - It is with great sadness that we record the recent death of our President, Sir Charles Mackerras. Sir Charles's contribution to the musical profession was boundless. The Directors of LPAO Ltd and the Trustees of the Charity, The London Pro Arte Orchestra, would like to place on record their deep appreciation and thanks for the support that Sir Charles gave the Orchestra in his role as President over many years. He will be sorely missed, not least by the LPAO's Artistic Director, Murray Stewart, whose mentor Sir Charles was.
