Artistic Director: Murray Stewart

Founded in 1986 as the Orchestra of St James Brass Ensemble, the present name was adopted in 1989, the year in which the London Pro Arte Orchestra was formed. The London Pro Arte Brass Ensemble varies in size from four to ten players. Its members are all Principals of the London Pro Arte Orchestra, as well as holding Principal positions in other major Orchestras, namely the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, BBC Concert Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Members of the Ensemble also play in other nationally and internationally known Brass Ensembles such as London Brass, the London Brass Virtuosi, the Locke Brass Consort, and the London Trombone Chorale.

The Ensemble has made a highly successful Tour of Denmark under the direction of Murray Stewart, the London Pro Arte Orchestra's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor. The Tour was supported by the British Council, and culminated in a recording for Danish Radio. The London Pro Arte Brass Ensemble has also appeared at Clifton Roman Catholic Cathedral, Bristol, as well as making regular London appearances.
